Santa Clara - Havana
April 4th, 2008

Pooky decided to drive the bus today, but as he couldn't reach the pedals, Marlene hopped in to give him a hand.

Roberto our bus driver didn't seem to mind that he'd lost his job.

First stop of the day was the Che Memorial

Che Memorial

We hopped on our bikes for a ride in the Yumuri Valley

We passed these piglets having a good little feed.

And rode along a quiet scenic road.

Past thatched cottages and palm trees.

On our final leg into Cuba, we stopped at the highest bridge.

With great views inland...

...and out to sea.

We ended our ride at a lookout, that overlooked the bridge and the sea.

They also made purportedly the best Piña Colada in Cuba. These were made with fresh pineapple and coconut, and then you added as much rum as you wanted....Where else would you be handed the bottle and given free reign to pour your own spirits?

Only in Cuba....
